Moran Point, Grand Canyon, AZ

I'd planned to shoot Lipan Point that morning, but I left too late - the sun was already breaking the horizon as I drove. Rather than gamble on making it, I pulled into the first overlook, Moran Point, and started hunting for a composition. Another photographer there was working a telephoto; I wanted to go wide. I found this lone juniper clinging to the edge and waited for the light to reach it.
