A wide golden-hour view of the Grand Canyon from Grandview Point, the low sun glowing through haze above a dead tree.

Where the Sun Pours In

Grandview Point, Grand Canyon, AZ

Once I'd found the right spot at Grandview Point, I wanted to keep it simple — a wide, near-panoramic frame with the low golden-hour sun pouring straight through the canyon. I used this lone dead tree to anchor the middle of the composition and shot into the light at 20mm, stopping down to f/11 so the sun held a clean shape. Some frames are less about a story and more about being there when the light is this good.
