The Merced a little way above Nevada Fall, near the Little Yosemite Valley camp. The cloud had gone flat and metallic, which is normally a reason to put the camera away. Here it was the whole point — river, fall, trees and sky all landed within about a stop of each other, so the picture holds on arrangement rather than on contrast between any of them.
