Into the Lupine

Cathedral Peak, Yosemite National Park, California

We were walking down towards the valley when this field stopped me — lupine in a quantity I had not expected, and very close to the violet the sky was already doing. I put the camera low, just under the flowers, and held focus on the peak rather than on them. The point was to place the viewer inside the field instead of looking at it from the edge.
